Why the laptop is not charging via the hub's PD port?

  • 1. Check if the laptop power adapter supports PD protocol.

    2. The power adapter of the laptop is too low, it is recommended to use a higher power adapter: a portion of the power will be deducted when the product is used.

PS.: Generally, a 60W power adapter will deduct 5W of power and a 100W power adapter will deduct 12-15W of power. If the original power adapter is under 60W, it will be underpowered.

  • I have an Anker 100 W power adaptor. It supports the PD protocol.

If I plug it direct to the laptop it charges the laptop battery.

If I plug it to the Selore &S-Global SEUC0215 adaptor the laptop does not charge. I have tried both the usb-C inputs on the adaptor, but neither will permit the laptop to charge from the Anker adaptor.

Is this a fault with the SEUC0215?

  • @Selore Global My laptop is not charging. The USB-C port is used for charging and connection to monitors. The monitors both work but the laptop is not charging. I read this response and purchased a new USB-C charger that is 100W. It is an off the shelf charger and it charges my laptop with no problems. I plug it into the SEUC0513 and there is no power to my laptop. I have to use the hub for the monitors and then unplug it and plug in the charger to top up the battery.

  • Dear @Graeme Hilton @Don Macleod
    We apologize for the inconvenience.

Based on your responses, you can do this:

① Try using a different USB-C device such as a smartphone, tablet, or another computer to test if it can charge using the same USB-C port.

②Please provide your detailed computer brand and model.
Let’s first check whether it is caused by the relatively high power requirements of gaming laptops.

③ Please provide videos or photos of the issue, such as if there is a red exclamation mark while charging or if there is no charging indication at all.

Or you can contact our after-sales support email (support@seloreglobal.com)

    Looking forward to your reply
    Best regards
