Consistent strange noise every 90 seconds when using the hub

  Just curious if anyone else has had this strange issue when inserting the hub into laptop. It consistently has a tone that plays every 90 seconds and is really annoying. Anyone that calls me through my laptop phone system can hear it too and they think they have been disconnected even though they haven't.  I don't know have a clue what's going on but had to order a different hub to see if it goes away:
