  Whenever a power surge occurs, you usually receive a notification warning you and protecting the connected devices from any form of damage. However, in some cases, the USB port may stop working after this. Therefore, you need to identify and resolve the issue to fix the USB port's inability to function properly after a power surge.
  
  
  

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions
  When you receive a power surge warning on the USB port, disconnect all devices connected to the computer and click the reset button.

  After the reset process is complete, restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
  
  
  
  2. Update the USB driver
  Press Windows+S to launch the search menu, enter Device Manager in the text field, and click on the relevant search result.
  
  
  
  
  3. Double click the Universal Serial Bus Controller entry here.
  
  
  4. Right-click on the USB port device and select Update Driver from the context menu.
  
  
  
  5. Finally, select Search for drivers automatically from the two options in the Update Drivers window.
